Document scanning is performed to convert a document from the paper form into the electronic form (to obtain electronic document image). Document description, or indexing, is aimed at acquiring specific information from the document image, such as invoice number, date (of creation, of payment), name, address etc. The data can be entered manually or using OCR, i.e. automatic text recognition.
Magellan Software offers the following scanning-related services:
* delivery of documents to the Customer and collection of documents from the Customer,
* document scanning at the Magellan Software’s head office,
* lease of equipment for document scanning,
* scanning performed using Magellan Software’s equipment and by Magellan Software staff at the Customer's head office or any location indicated by the Customer,
* preparation of documents for scanning: taking out of binders, removal of fasteners and paper clips, document arrangement,
* document description, i.e. acquisition of data from documents,
* saving electronic documents on CDs, DVDs or in a database,
* transfer of electronic documents to the Customer’s IT system,

SIZE AND QUALITY
We have equipment which makes it possible to process documents from the size of the business card to A0. Thanks to broad experience and top qualifications of our staff our company offers scanning of various documents and is able to obtain good-quality document images from poor-quality originals.
EFFICIENCY
Highly efficient scanners supplied by Bell+Howell, Kodak, Canon and Fujitsu, coupled with software for scanning document sets, enable us to process several hundred thousand documents a day. Since we have various types of scanning equipment, we are able to optimise the process regardless of the thickness, format, age or material of documents to be scanned.
TIME
Order completion times are always agreed individually, depending on order size, volume of documents and means of acquiring data from documentation. Bar codes, document standardisation (enabling the application of OCR and ICR modules), and the use of data already entered in the Customer's database make it possible to considerably reduce document processing times.
